Prof. Damian Griffin

With a First Class degree in Physiology from Cambridge and a medical degree from Oxford, Professor Griffin is a renowned orthopaedic surgeon who trained in Oxford, the United States, and Cambridge, where he researched musculoskeletal disease clinical epidemiology.

In 2002, he joined Warwick Medical School as its foundation professor, establishing a trauma and orthopaedic surgery department focused on assessing surgical clinical effectiveness. Professor Griffin is passionate about hip arthroscopy and hip-preserving surgery for active individuals, which now comprises most of his clinical practice and research.

As an internationally recognized expert, he regularly teaches, lectures, and attracts patients from around the globe. Professor Griffin was awarded the OBE in the Military Division of the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his contributions to Army Medical Services.
